I would not tolerate that kind of behavior from a stallion, much less a proud cut gelding. If you still want to keep him, I would find a trainer who has experience with stallions and treat him like a stallion. There are plenty of stallions who can behave themselves with mares in the ring, and I wouldn't expect any less from this guy.
Are you *sure* he is proud cut? With modern vet school and what not, proud cut geldings are few and far between. Try asking the vet to confirm that he is indeed proud cut. It's possible he's just a jerk, or maybe has a hormone imbalance. Perhaps the vet could help you.
