Arabian Saddles I need tips for training an arabian for saddles seat, and western pleasure.?
I just got an arabian, and I want to do pleasure with her. The only problem is she was only a halter horse, so it is almost impossible to get her to canter. I want to possibly do saddle seat and western for sure. I mostly need tips for saddle seat since i've never shown in it before.
"she was only a halter horse, so it is almost impossible to get her to canter" Piffle - lots of halter horses are also shown in pleasure classes. Guessing you don't know how to ASK for the canter.
Saddle Seat and Western Pleasure require TOTALLY different frames and ways of going.

Not saying the same horse can't do both...AM saying you need Experience (and a horse with the ability) to train the horse to do so.
It really depends on where you live. He sounds/looks like a great horse but in the area where I live(western NC) he wouldn't bring but maybe $500. I know of a horse close to where I live that is a 4 y/o double registered reining horse and will work cattle that has won many chanpionships that the asking price is $700 OBO. He has been for sale for 6 months and has had one person look at him. I would buy him in a heart beat if I had the money. But farther north from here your horse would prolly go anywhere from $2 – 5000. So great horse of not it depends on where you live.
