What kind of saddle do you ride in?
I'm a hunter jumper and I just started taking dressage as well. I've only taken a few dressage lessons, but I love it so far and it's helped so much all ready. I've been using my friend's dressage saddle, but I'm thinking about getting my own. I'll have to try some of coursee, but any suggestions? I ride in a bates close contact right now and i love it. Are the bates dressage saddles good? Any saddles you really don't like?

I'm not a spoiled rotten brat. I work very hard for what I have. How could you say something like that to someone you don't even know?
I started dressage in the late 70's and at the time couldn't afford two saddles, so I used my old Siegfried (Stubben) but since that time, I've acquired a Stubben Parzival for dressage and have LOVED it! The buttery soft leather, the DEEP seat really aids in balance and seat position.

bates close contact saddles!?
I am looking for a close contact saddle. I have a price range of under a thousand. I know that bates are really nice saddles. Are there any sites that have them used and new, for under 1,000?
Look on ebay, tack shops and craigslist. I have seen a few for under $1000. Stubben is also a great brand... but you may not find one under $1000.
