bates saddle close contact
What size Bates saddle should I buy?
I am looking for a Bates Caprilli close contact, but I'm not sure what size to buy.
I am 5'3 and 112 lbs.
What size seat should I look for? And not a long flap right, since I'm short!
Ps- does anyone know where I can buy a used Caprilli?
Probably a size 16 or 16.5. Also, I don't know what the other comment was about close contact saddles...is totally untrue. Close contact saddles usually distribute your weight more evenly over the top of the saddle thereby eliminating back problems. I start ALL of my babies in a close contact saddle and when they have developed a more muscled back line I will start them on a dressage saddle. Try Ebay or Tacktrader.com for your saddle. Good luck.

The boy who answered to the name of Frank Haywood was a rather chunky, well set-up lad of about sixteen. He had blue eyes, that were usually sparkling with mirth; and a mop of yellow hair; while his skin was darkened by long exposure to sun and wind.

Frank Haywood adjusted the glasses to his eye. Then, rising in his saddle, he gazed long and earnestly in the direction he had indicated. Meanwhile his companion, also a lad, a native of Kentucky, and answering to the name of Bob Archer, busied himself about the band of his saddle, having leaped to the ground.
