bates saddle any good
is the bates elevation saddle good?
I am about to purchase the bates elevation saddle for my mare. It fits my horse but I just wanted to know if anyone has been riding in it for awhile and can tell me about it? is it good to compete in has your horse had any back problems? have you had any seat problems? does it wear well?
I am getting the dark brown 17" medium gullet
The saddle is for english riding for showjumping mainly
I looked at several reviews but this listing from Dover tells more than the rest. Two grand though is a LOT of money for a saddle in today's market. I am still NOT a fan of the interchanging gullet system. I would like to see how these saddles hold up after a steady 10 yrs worth of work before I can honestly make a knowledgeable opinion on them. My old Stubben Siegfried (With a WIDE tree) has been on everything from TBs, to AQHAs to Running type AQHAs to Arabs and even a lonely little Azteca and has fit all without issues. As I said it's 40 years old, has had steady work until the last couple of years (It's outlasted ME!) and I've owned it since '72.

For that much money I'd go with a NEW Siegfried CC saddle.
