Bates wintec Easy
Is wintec and bates the same?
I have tried a wintec close contact and it was just great. However, I want a leather saddle (I don't think shiny gold "WINTEC" would go down well in the hunter ring). So I was wondering if the bates caprilli close contact is the same, only leather? I noticed its super easy to find used and cheap (if it fits my horse).
Does anyone read the details? I know bates owns wintec. I asked about one particular model though.

Bates Caprilli is a higher end of the Wintec. I definitely suggest getting it. I love that saddle!!!

I need to find out what I own, otherwise it's useless!?
I'm selling my English saddle and have no idea of value, type, year, or features. Wintec/Bates Australia on the gold tag, made in Vietnam,17", (sticker still there) Synthetic, Easy Gullet(has the velcro),Flock, black, with the suede by knees.. That's all I do know. And it's been used like twice.I would like to know what discipline, if it's wool flocking, width, if it's a 250 of 500 or whatever, AP, or jumping, I want to know all about it. Was my dads, he recently passed and it has been kept in his bedroom closet for at least 5 years. He never rode, that I knew of. Would just be helpful to know.
I would go to a tack shop, or local stable near by and have them inspect it. Even if a picture was posted, there really is no way of us to determine the value. Go to the shop or stable, and they will be able to better tell you the value. Good Luck!

CJ: They are still doing some work on the SPUI that’s likely to leave a lot of road debris . . . so give it a bit longer. I actually think it’s gonna be a bear on a bike . . . I can’t think of an easy way to get across those big sweeping ramps readily. I avoided that one on the bike as well . . . though I actually hate the one just north of it (Sparrowbush Road) more: very narrow shoulders, very low rails, so from the saddle, very spooky perspective of looking down at traffic, into which you would fly if someone side-swiped you. Sweaty palms just thinking about it . . .
