Blue Ribbon English
Blue Ribbon English
Fellow literati, like the fictional Julian English, did you ever fancy drinking a highball out of a large?

vase while listening Josephine Baker and then then repairing to the garage? Or maybe drinking Pabst Blue Ribbon while listening to Johnny Cash? Has conservative Christianity, along with religious, class and sexual discrimination ever negatively impacted you? If you were on earth in those days, just how ideal were the 1950's and early 1960's? Have you succeeded in cancelling your own Appointment in Sammara; perhaps by realizing that large parts of society (rather than you ) is skewed? How did you accomplish this?
Yes dear. I think wrapping the cookies (rather than the cook) in Saran wrap is best. Bring along a Ravi Shankar c.d., some Nag Champa incense, and we'll get down to some serious Oolong drinking.
So no one on here has read John O'Hara? For shame. Even Papa Hemingway (who sadly was thus inspired) raved about Appt. in Sammara.

let me b the first to say"YOUR A NUT"next lets get down to the bottom of the 1950-60s,ah yes the good old days, when times were bad and even an alocohlic wouldn't drink blue ribbon,.skewed, what a word, why didn't u say screwed and been done w/ it,ahhhhhhhhh forget it

Here are the corrections. Additions are in CAPS.

The temperature outside was more than 100 degrees SO we stayed inside during recess.

Heather's photograph was chosen by the judges SO she won a blue ribbon.

Donna's doctor's appointment is set for Tuesday, BUT she will have to reschedule it.

I am going to the store. Do you need anything?

Wendy rented a red convertible. It was her first time driving such a nice car.

I don't know if there's a word for that, but I agree with your assessment (as well as the answerer above me).

I so can relate! G is going into the 8th grade and there are still things we are “working on.” Is it a blip or a bump? Who knows perspective is so hard to get… However, now I really see his personality and passion developing. Last year he won a blue ribbon in the county fair for a painting. You can see it here:
