Circut dressage

Horse show issues. Is this a normal problem? Should the people running the show be blamed?

Im new in the show circut and I want to know what is a normal dressage show procedure. The application said the closing date to get the entrys in was on a saturday, we sent the entry in on thursday. Today they told us that I was put on a waiting list along with fifteen others from my barn alone because we sent in the entrys only a few days before the closing date. But doesn't that mean that we still got them in perfectly on time? They notified the riders only two days before the show so many took vacation days and time off work for this. Its a local show and the majority of us are in training level. Should the people running the show be blamed? Is this normal procedure? (the application said nothing about first come first serve)

Well there will always be flaws in our world.

The national rule is, "first come, first serve" for most services. Well, shows are no different.

I wouldn't even call this bad organization. There really is no other way to do it. If your barn was familiar with this show, they should of known the slots usually fill up fast, so they should of filled out their applications on the opening date.

In no way do I want this to be taken offense by you, but this really was your fault. The amount of chaos that would happen if the show did not have a limit of entrants really outweighs you being on the waiting list and most likely not attending this show.

There will be other shows! Good luck!
