Hunter-Jumper/Dressage Barns near Michigan State University?
I am going to school at MSU this coming fall to start studying equine medicine, and i would like to continue training for competitions in dressage and jumping....I do not have my own horse so the barn would need to provide lesson horses and a trainer to take lessons from. Does anyone know any reputable names that i might be able to check out? Thanks so much!
Well, I dont know about the exact areas for you, but I was in the same place last year, but was looking for work rather then training but the search option is roughly the same. You will just have to narrow it down a little. I go to school in an small town UWSP, so this worked well for a small town, It might be overwhelming for larger towns.
1. Go to google and search horse under your zip code and go through like that. Email or call the people that you find, if they dont offer, always ask if they can recommend someone.
2. Find the Craigslists that is closest to the city and either post that your looking for a dressage barn or stalk it to see what is near by.
3. Check out the local tack shops and call petstores to see if they have any information about it.
It worked well for me. It is a little time consuming but it really gets pretty good results Best of Luck..
