Opinions on Saddles?
so i just got a horse (my first one!! - a thoroughbred mare if you were wondering) and i have a few questions on tack.. the lady who's giving me the horse is offering me her tack as well, but its an english synthetic black saddle (not sure what brand) and a leather bridle(she wants 300$ for the set), ive heard that synthetic saddles are bad so i started looking at leather ones...but i have no idea what im looking at! i have kind of a strict pricerange (nothing over 1500 for the set)
so what are some good trusted saddle brands that make good durable leather saddles but still fall into my price range?? i was looking at a mondega close contact saddle package and i can get it for 1200.. is this a good saddle?i ride hunter if your interested...
First of all you need to measure yourself for a seat size. Take a measuring tape and start at the outside of your knee and take it to your hip. That will give you your English saddle seat wise.
Watch the lesser known or cheaper saddles. Most of the time they are made in Argentina or India and don't hold up very long.
Passier, Kieffer, Stubben, Crump and Crosby are all good brands of saddles. However, if you're JUST learning, I'd get a Stubben Siegfried. Mainly because they have a DEEP seat and it's hard to come out of them.
You can find good used ones on ebay.

Help finding a saddle! Please help! 10 PTS. Possbile!?
I am looking for a leather saddle I can show in! I do hunter and show jumping so that would be fine! We have a close contact saddle right now but what is it really? Please help! Please list specific saddles from websites! Thanks in advance

It depends on your price range and horse, I love HDRs though (like the link you posted), they are classic and come in lots of sizes, they are also really high quality for not too too much
