Contact Padded Flap What type of english saddle is this?
Can you tell me what kind of english saddle this is? Close contact, all purpose, jump...etc Also can you tell me how you can tell, and if it has blocks, knee rolls, pencil rolls and if so where they are. Oh and how come this one doesn't have those pads on the outside flap that are sometimes suede or just leather padding? I know nothing about English saddles obviously I'm just learning. Thanks!

it is a close contact u can tell bye how deep the seat is dressage seats are deep and all pupose is inbetween so not deep or not shalow in the middle and close contact is a shalower seat and there is more to it but it is hard to explain
I want to get into hunter under saddle classes. I have ridden dressage, so know a lot about those. However, I don't have as much experience with close contact saddles. Almost all that I have tried I hated. Most of them feel tipped forward, and I find that extremely uncomfortable. So I need one with like a medium deep seat (obviously not like a dressage saddle, but not flat). I won't be jumping, so it doesn't need very forward flaps, just as long as they are forward/long enough for my fairly long legs (5'11" but have a long torso so its not all leg). And it absolutely must be under $2000. And I don't like plain flaps. I want a bit of padding and some kind of knee roll. And those little rolls at the back? I prefer to have none or for them to be removable/up really high. I find them very interfering and uncomfortable. Thanks! Um brands, models. I KNOW I want a deeper seat.
I know how you feel. I primarily do dressage but I also do a fair amount of jump work with my horse. I have an older P.A. Spirig. Their seats are much deeper than the typical close contacts and they are very comfortable. County saddles are also great, I unfortunately could not afford one of these but I absolutely love them. I've seen them used for around $2000.
