is there full contact stick fighting competitions?
not any of WEKAF paded stuff, just the gloves and mask, i know the dog brothers do full contact stick fighting, but they do tribe thing where there's no winners or lossers. i'm talking about a competitive sport with winners, lossers, and champs. is there any league out there like this
The full contact stuff is usually limited to in-club training. In order to make this into an amature tournament activity the promoters need to deal with local state laws and limitations, not to mention the fact that they need insurance to promote these events. For example in Texas any event that involves full force activity (knock outs, etc.) needs to register for licensing with the state, and this can be complicated and expensive. And the fact remains that most insurance companies do not look kindly on full contact events. Sometimes the only way to encourage any level of public competitive exchange is to use the protective gear and to modify the rules. Unfortunately this is what tournament promoters have to deal with.
