dressage saddles for cobs

SYNTHETIC SADDLES! Thorowgood...?

I'm kind of not-for-real saddle shopping so I have some in mind when I do get my horse. (And I will get it eventually dammit!) Anywho, I hear a ton of good stuff about the thorowgood saddles. I'm trying to spend as little on saddles as possible and still get a nice saddle that will last a while. What intrigued me about the thorowgood saddles is they have 3 different shaped versions of any given model. Like the T4 Dressage comes in High wither, medium, and cob (so wide n flat) then each of those comes with changeable gullets and on top of that their Fish system for little adjustments. So it seems like I could fit just about any horse I buy! And they run for only $500-$600ish!!!
Personal experiences anyone?
Haha, that collegiate is on my list of saddles I like!

I have never rode in a Thorowgood (heck, never even used a synthetic saddle!) but if it isn't a Wintec I don't believe paying $500 for a SYNTHETIC saddle is a good deal. Heck, even Wintecs shouldn't be that much (and they run for $1000+!).

And to be honest, you can get an old Collegiate saddle (used) for the same exact price. And it'll be leather and all around good quality.

I mean I'm all for saving money (and if need be I will never knock down a Wintec if it has good reviews) but if you CAN spend that kinda money might as well spend it well.

Good luck!
