whats the difference between english saddles?
such as close contact, dressage, all purpose, hunter/jumper
Close contact:
A close contact saddle is made for over fences and on the flat, so it's very popular. It's also easy for you to go from your position on the flat to two point, for when you jump.

All purpose:
This saddle is used for people who like to jump and ride dressage, without having to use two different saddles. So, it has a deeper seat (like a dressage saddle) and forward cut flap like a jumping/close contact saddle, but not too forward.

Dressage:
This saddle has a deep seat and long, strait cut flap with large knee blocks. In dressage, you want a long stirrup and the deep seat and long flaps is so you can sit very easily and have good contact with the horse, to perform difficult moves that dressage requires.

Hunter/jumper:
It's very similar to the close contact, only meant only for jumping. So, there will be a very forward cut flap, knee blocks that can accommodate a jump position that's used often, and a short flap to accommodate short stirrups.

English Size Girth is what size in a dressage girth?
I ride english pleasure, buying a dressage saddle and need to know what size girths to buy. I have a horse who is a 48" and the other is 52".... what size dressage girths do i need?
Girth size varies depending on the shape of your horse and the length of the billets on your saddle; however, a general rule of thumb is to subtract 20" from the your AP girth length to get proper dressage girth length
