What is the middle billet for on an English jumper saddle?
Just wondering. Not that any of mine are damaged or broken, but I saw on Wikipedia that if you have a horse that your saddle slips back on, you should attach the girth on the first and second billets, rather than the traditional first and third. Does anyone know if this is reputable?
Having 3 billets gives you options. For one thing, you have an extra in case one breaks. It also lets you customize the fit somewhat to your horse. There is really only one place on your horse's back where the saddle should sit. But, depending on your horse's conformation, you may use the first two billets, or the last two. This may help to keep your saddle in place where it belongs. So Wikipedia is right. But on your typical horse, using the first and third billets works best.
Also, some extremely high-end saddles like Amerigo come with 4 billets to give you even more options.

What I did was use examples she gave us and like compare them to what we do today and why her way could help us and I gave a conclusion. I don't know whether I did right or not though because I don't think the question was very precise. Everyone I know though said they found it hard though so if everyone in the country did the grade boundaries will be lower. You can also make it up in the coursework and paper 2 though and if you did well in section B and in the presentational devices question you may get a decent grade so try not to worry too much. I'm sure you'll have done fine though but good luck with your results.
All 3 sound really good, but #2 has a miss quote when it says NO vices, every horse there is was or ever will be has at least one vice somewhere. Kinda like saying the horse is bomb proof is never really true. I because I like to train and have a good feeling about a horse I trained would of course pick #3.
