English Ridding Saddle
Should i try this???Am i ready?
should i raise it? my horse Maddie, just cleared the higest jump tha she has ever cleard. I rid ebareback. I know that anybody who answers this will think i am crazy for jumping bareback but in english saddle you still have the same risk of falling off. Ok this may not sound high but it was to me. 2.5ft. The highest i can get my jump(homeade) is 3ft...l.should i? i have no way of telling when she is ready.
If you are going to raise the jump, you should be helping her to adapt to it when you ride her over it. The best way to accomplish that is by saddling her so you are sure to relieve her back of your weight, keep your weight evenly distributed, and have your stirrups to keep you centered. I would not ask her to both take the higher jump and compensate for the challenges you present by riding bareback. Once she has become comfortable and competent over that height of jump, then you can start doing it bareback.
