Zoe, you probably have no idea how lucky you are to have parents willing to provide you with riding lessons and a trainer who understands the importance of getting the feel of your horse. Maybe you do! Good trainers will require students to stand in English saddles and on the horse's rump as they are around the ring. At first, it may feel scary but it sure develops balance, confidence and an innate feel for how horses move. Those kinds of sessions early on can make a huge difference when you reach more advanced levels. Keep up the good work!
