The best way to sell saddles?

I got 2 used beautiful english saddles for christmas! they are in amazing condition, but there is no name on them and no information on what kind of saddles they are. But there was another big problem.. THEY DONT FIT MY HORSES!!! They are too wide and when I post when I trot it comes down too hard and hurts their backs. I have tried to return them too the store but they have this 30 day return policy and I was over due. So now I am borrowing my trainors saddle and I am wasting these 2 beautiful saddles that are just collecting dust in my tack room.

Does anyone have any imformation on where I can sell them for good money..? Im trying to stay away from Ebay and amazon but if its my only option I guess im stuck. HELP!

Many local tack shops will sell them on consignment. Personally, though, I've had better luck with just spreading the word to everyone I know that might be interested, and Craigslist. Although there is no reason you can't do both - place them in a local store and let everyone know they are there.

What is the little velcro flap on an english saddle pad used for and where does it go?

I have a saddle pad and I was wondering what the little velcro flap was used for and where it goes. PLEASE HELP Before june 20

The're called billet keepers and their purpose is to help keep the saddle pad from slipping side to side or forwards and backwards. Depending on the size, they're supposed to be wrapped around either the first billet strap or all three of them. This is basically the same function as the girth strap that some english saddlep pads also have (if it's closer to the 'spine' of the saddle pad, it's the billet keeper and if it's near the trim, it's the girth strap).

Often, the billet keepers are unnessecary if the saddle fits the horse well but are usually used as a precaution, especially with high-speed work and jumping.

You should make sure that the velcro lies flat against the saddle flap so that it doesn't create a bump or is flipped around and can run the saddle flap.

Hope that helped :)
