What kind of breastcollar is best for trails?

I ride trails a lot and compete in CTR's during the summer. I prefer to use an english saddle because they're easier to quickly take on and off and the checkpoints. I'm looking to buy a breastcollar to keep the saddle in place when going up hills, but I didn't know if it was okay to use either a standing or running martingale? Or should I not use either one? Thanks!

I have a personal preference for breast collars more like this:

I've had better luck fitting this kind as the center ring on some models can rub a thin skinned horse, but you may find the center ring style works better for you.

Also I just want to say Skipping Stones is right on the money. Stick with Beta or Biothane. You'll just need to dunk it in water to clean the sweat and hair off and then you put it back on. It won't get brittle in the cold or get water damaged.

Avoid martingales if you can. You want your horse to have a free head for balance on rough or steep terrain. Also it's one more piece of gear to get sweaty and rub, and one more thing to get caught if you hit some really wild terrain.

LOL can you help me re-learn how to post?

I normally ride western but I'm going to a college where they teach you to ride both western and english so I picked up a cheap used english saddle. Its been 5 years since I've ridden english and when I hopped into that saddle it felt like I was riding bareback!!!! I know I'll be learning this in a year but that's so far away and I thought I might as well be posting correctly. I've got the rhythm down its just my posture i guess, that's messing me up, I don't feel comfortable. My sister told me that I don't look right either. So how can I re-learn how to post correctly? (along with lots of practice, I know!) Are there any exercises in the saddle I can do to strengthen my legs? Thank you for the help!

MY teacher tells me "Rise and fall with the shoulder to the wall." Which means go up/ forward when the shoulder of the horse nearest to the wall goes forward. When the shoulder slides back, you get sit back down in the saddle
