english saddles horse tack

How do I know what size I am in english breeches, shirt and jacket?
I am in my 4th year of showing horses and I just started english. The sizes are so confusing!Help!
I have been riding for about 10 years, since I was 4, and my parents never let me even touch a english saddle. All western. But I just got free english tack, but I wasn't so lucky with the clothes. My 4h leader gave me boots and a helmet but that's all I have.
i no this really probably doesn't help but english riding is awsam a good way to find out is to go to your nearest tack shop horse and for rider and the best thing to do is just try things on! i hope this helps!! o by the way you should really go by the size you really are like say your size 10 in woemens clothes then there probly the same!! coz mine were!!
hope you have a good time riding in the english saddle im sure it will be great!! x

All your references are correct.
There is also 'saddle tank', a steam locomotive with a tank over the boiler.

I would suggest going to your local saddler and checking the prices for yourself. It is hard to help you with prices with such limited information.
Perhaps your father should go and have a chat with your riding instructor and he can find out what you can get now and what needs to wait until the horse has been purchased.
If you have so much experience, you should already have a list of tack that you have previously used. I'm surprised you don't already have a helmet and riding boots with the amount of riding you have done.
No horse rider/handler knows it all… we learn about horses every day. Every horse you come into contact with will teach you something. So open your mind and listen.
Olympic riders take lessons to improve their skill, horsemanship and knowledge. Do you think they go around saying "I know everything there is to know about horses" and stop learning?
Sorry for being hard on you, but your attitude will not get you very far in life.
Your riding;
Some no stirrups work, a pic would help whats wrong, you arent putting enough on your seat, your seat is what keeps your balanced and good, your upper body will make either your legs go far back or far forward depending on whether youve tipper forward(makes legs go far back), or tipped back(makes legs go far forward).
Sit straight in the saddle and keep your heels well down, without the stirrups, while some is lunging your horse so you just worry about your riding. and practise relaxing and moving with the horse.
Slowing horse down:
You shouldnt get a stronger bit, that will make him worse, so dont do that, maybe take out the grains in his diet and make more fibre. Lunging wont make him go slower it will not only bore him it will make him fitter and therefore able to rush more often and longer.
Dont use a running martingale, his head is up because he's either scared or uncomfortable, you have to teach him to get his head down, get a german martingale, put it on and tie the reins to the saddle dees, set it to the 1st setting and then leave him attended in a round pen or arena with fences so that he can learn to keep his head and neck good while learning to use his hindquarters.
With his head set, you arent riding a horses' head, you are riding his whole body, he has to learn to push with his hindquarters, rather than pull with his forequarters, with that will come a light front, and a good head set with good impulsion.
he will have to learn how to keep proper impulsion and head set in all gaits at first, standing, walk, trot, canter.
When riding in the german martingale, when he bends his neck and is in proper head set and using his hind end properly, let his reins release(this is his reward), as soon as he falls out of proper outline, put on your rein pressure(which works on the german martingale to get his head to drop), and then put on your leg to ask for impulsion(thats power, but not speed).
Thats the start of collection when you have a powerful in proper outline walk, trot, canter, this will also stop him from running off as much.
When he rushes, dont pull on the reins, that makes him dull(not hard mouthed thats impossible, he's not listening when he has a hard mouth its not a physical thing its a mental thing), try a few half halts(slight pressure on both reins for a short ammount of time), that makes him listen,
or try to circle him, that is use one rein to bring him into a circle, then when its a small enough circle, put his head to his shoulder, and that will disengage his hind end, and that makes him stop.
Try some figure of eights(not sure what horse talk they are called), in walk, trot, canter, that makes him flexible, supple, and he will listen to your aids better, makes him learn that you control where he goes and at what speed.
Everytime you feel your horse speeding up sit deeper in the saddle, take off your legs, half halt, then finally, pull his head to his shoulder with one rein(either side), and that will stop him he will also learn that you control him.
try lots of walk to canter, trot to halt, lots of transitions, and also turning patterns.
