Used English Saddles In What the best way to sell a saddle?
I got 2 used beautiful english saddles for christmas! they are in amazing condition, but there is no name on them and no information on what kind of saddles they are. But there was another big problem.. THEY DONT FIT MY HORSES!!! They are too wide and when I post when I trot it comes down too hard and hurts their backs. I have tried to return them too the store but they have this 30 day return policy and I was over due. So now I am borrowing my trainors saddle and I am wasting these 2 beautiful saddles that are just collecting dust in my tack room.
Does anyone have any imformation on where I can sell them for good money..? Im trying to stay away from Ebay and amazon but if its my only option I guess im stuck. HELP!
I would say that if you're trying to stay away from selling over the internet in general that you find a tack shop or something along those lines and ask if you can put it up as a consignment sale. This is an especially ideal way of selling if you know the owners of the shop, as most are very willing to sell anything they can make part of the profit off of.
But if you want to keep all 100% of the sale you're most likely going to have to sell it online. Craigslist is a huge site that you can buy or sale absolutely ANYTHING on. It's not like eBay where it's an auction; instead, you post the information you know and some method of contacting you for anyone interested in purchasing your saddle. If you're leaning toward a site that is specifically for horses and their owners you could always try horsetackandsaddle.com which is a legit website. Horsetopia.com is also a great website that I have used and my friends have also used to sell and purchase tack and a couple of horses. I hope this is somewhat helpful.
butterflychic26-I can handle snakes, even huge anacondas but a spider will send me running. I hate them worse than anything. The ticks are BAD this year probly because of our non-existent winter weather. I like english saddles for thier close contact but where I live, and what I do, a western saddle is more practical. I am not suprised your friend is an excellent equestrianne!
