Anyone heard of Lancers Saddlery?

Our barn just got a new english saddle and on the nail it says Lancers Saddlery. I googled it hoping to find a website for it but I got nothing.

I've never heard of Lancers Saddlery. I just searched it a few times and I came up with a few "lancers saddle for sale" type adds but no Lancers Saddlery website.

I'm glad you pointed out all the problems and discomfort that are caused by ill-fitting saddles. Your advice is important whether riders choose Western or English saddles. And I enjoyed the video that share regarding how to properly fit a saddle. Good job!

  3. I used to have an old Hartley close-contact that I picked up at a used-tack store for a hundred bucks. The next thing to bareback. I loved it! The AP that I have now is my old friend of more than ten years …. I got it when I was sixteen. I still fit it… I think… but it wasn’t 15″ either. I think it’s a 16.5 or a 17. It’s definitely less saddle than a Stubben, which is like, “Hello? Is there a horse down there?” Stubbens are the La-Z-Boys of English saddles! Although ironically, my old, Swiss Stubben was a “close-contact dressage.” It had none of that German, “You sit here, where I tell you!” styling that is currently en vogue.

This is my absolutely favorite trail saddle:

It is a treeless cross between english and western, with great weight distribution and it is so comfortable. It will mold to your horse's back and fit him perfectly. The only reason you wouldn't want it is if your horse has a sway back, high withers, or a serious a-frame, or if you weight more than 200 lbs. Otherwise it fits most back types, and is light weight and fantastic. I own a Sensation dressage saddle, and this trail saddle, and I am thinking of buying their jumping saddle. It is an AMAZING ride. They also send out saddles for trial periods, to see if it works for you and your horse.
