Best saddle rack for an english saddle?
Anyone have any opinions on what kind of rack is best for keeping english saddles on, or does it even really matter? I would think it would be best to support the panels evenly.
Now that I've finally finished building my tack/feed room, I'd like to put up some racks and stop using the sawhorse covered in blankets I've been using. I want racks that hang from the wall and you can hang one below another one (so don't recommend those fake horse torsos like at the tack shop). I also don't want to spend a crazy amount of money on racks and would be able/willing to build some.
We just use the Standard Saddle Rack shown on this web page. http://www.doversaddlery.com/category.asp_Q_c=173&c2c=ln&ipp=3200
They mount right to the wall and they seem to work fine. We keep saddle pads underneath them to help prevent dents in the pannels, and I have yet to see any damage to any of our saddles. They're pretty inexpensive too!

Anyone know of any good english saddle shops in central/north-central OH?
I'm trying to save up to invest in my first new, name-brand saddle for my wide QH mare. I'm looking for a dressage saddle, but I don't want to spend the money to have it shipped and then have it not fit. Any good english tack stores in OH?
I live in southern michigan and I go to Wyldwood in Lambertville OH it is the BEST i have ever been to. It might be a little out of the way but it is worth it.

I’ve noticed some problems associating forum topics with relevant posts. For instance, “speech acts” are also “everyday happenings with language,” and both of these topics can be used to explain English usage. The associated Venn diagram would give enough overlap to make categorization difficult — and it does.Now, on topic:According to the etymology reference section of dictionary.com, the phrase “all of a sudden” was “first attested 1680s, earlier of a sudayn (1590s), upon the soden (1550s). Sudden death, tie-breakers in sports, first recorded 1927; earlier in ref. to coin tosses (1834).”I don’t understand the syntax of the phrase in the context of English syntax. As an adjective, “sudden” can’t be the object of a preposition, yet it functions as such here (i.e. “all of a sudden,” is made to fit the form “all of a pie,” or, “all of a day,” or “all of a noun.”) If we add the affix -ness to create the noun form “suddenness,” we still fail to make semantic sense with the phrase. The idiomatic phrase “all of a sudden” *means* “suddenly.” The closest prepositional phrase approximation I can make is “with suddenness.” “Sudden” is a unique adjective I suppose, inasmuch as it modifies primarily occurrences, or it situates things with time and not space (physical characteristics). That is, you can have a brown cow, but a sudden cow is, while syntactically correct, difficult to make sense of. This is probably a red herring, so to speak, because similar adjectives don’t have similar idiomatic expressions (that is, partly, what makes this idiomatic). For instance, “interminable.” It is possible to have an interminable vacation or a sudden vacation, but one wouldn’t say in English, “All of an interminable, I went on vacation.” One can say, however, “I went on vacation interminably,” or, “I went on an interminable vacation,” or “I went on vacation suddenly,” or “I went on a sudden vacation.” I’m not sure what constitutes an interminable cow however.The point of this exploration, I suppose, is to better understand what is meant by “an idomatic expression,” rather than to determine the semantic/syntactic sense of the specific phrase.
