English Saddle Fitting?
I've noticed over the last few weeks my horse's gullet in the back between the panels is not as wide as it used to be and it's probably about 1/4-1/2 of an inch too narrow. The gullet in the front is still wide enough, and the tree is still fitting good. Do I have to buy a new saddle because of this, because I don't have the money for that. Is there any kinda of special pads I can use? or something I can do to make it wider?
He's not showing any discomfort, or anything. It's a Collegiate Convertible Diploma Close Contact saddle. I jump for pleasure 4'-4'9'', trail ride, and just general riding. By the way, there's no way I can use a barn members saddle, because my horse boards at my house which is about 4 hours from the closest boarding barn.
If the saddle has actually changed, you should look into getting it reflocked. A saddle fitter may be able to reflock the saddle in order to change the fit. If you purchase any sort of pads for a narrow fitting saddle (even in the back) it will only put more pressure on the area that the saddle is sitting on. The only way to correct this is to have the saddle fit by a saddle fitter. Likely it can be reflocked which will be somewhere between 100-200 dollars, and they may be able to fix it so that it is better fit.
I'm not sure how far away you are from english tack stores, but you may call around and see if anyone knows if a saddle fitter will be having a clinic sometime soon in your area. If so, you can attend and see what it costs to have your saddle re-fit and re-flocked. It may be as simple as reflocking it to the right fit. Hopefully that would be the best idea. Do NOT try to fix it with pads, it will not be fixable. Some saddles that are a tad too wide can have SOME padding fits, but they typically tend to put more pressure on the horse, or change the way the saddle is sitting to cause worse pressure.
Keep a close eye for back pain, running your fingers along the back every time before and after you ride. Check for any changes in your horses movements and pressure in the back. If he shows pain, discontinue riding in the saddle. Until then, just look and see what you can do for options. Again, I do not recommend corrective paddings, they can easily put more pressure on the back. Try to find a saddle fitter to give you options

Arabian English riders help please.?
It's been years since I've seriously rode a English or Hunt Saddle. I know I need a wide tree and I know what size seat I ride. But I was curious as to what brands you use for the following
Hunt:
Country English Pleasure:
English Pleasure:
Park:
Barnsby is still the top choice of Arab judges in the ring........right or wrong. They do build a beautiful saddle....
Many arab judges just will not use a horse in a synthetic saddle, no matter how well balanced they are (I have one I love) so in the show ring, I think it's best to avoid the synthetics due to the judge prejudice.
Barnsby is an English company; they make hunt seat and cut back saddle seat saddles, so one of each would cover you for all the classes you listed above.
