Alright, so I've fallen in love with Equipe saddles. They're made in Italy, [[ Not France ]] so do you think the quality is alright? They're made with Italian calfskin. Does anyone have experience with them or Italian saddles / calfskin? So what do you think of them? Thanks!
I think they're from the same makers of Amerigo & Vega?...Lol.
My friend has one for her ID...she is also very much in love with them. She says they are super comfy and the best she has had in years. I am thinking of getting one for my TB December/January time. Leigh X

Horse Training for Equestrian Games : How to Compete in Hunter Under Saddle
Opinions & help wanted on BR saddles?
I'm looking to buy The Mozart by BR Equestrian. I'd like some opinions. Here's what it looks like:
If you don't have experience on these saddles, tell me what you think! The price is not a concern for me.
Also I'm looking at the Universal by BR Equestrian. Would this saddle be suitable for the jumping phases in eventing? Would it hold up, and provide comfort for both the horse & rider?
Would both saddles be okay for everyday use? How often should I oil leather saddles? I usually clean them with light saddle soap after every use, but how many times a week should I oil these saddles in particular?
Thanks
Well, depending on how it is made, a fiberglass tree can be just as solid as wood, or more so. The problem that I am running into is that I really am not finding much information about the BR Equestrian saddles. Do you personally know quite a bit about them? They are priced pretty high for no more hits than I received on google. Not to be mean or anything. They might be an amazing saddle.
But if you are willing to spend whatever to get a really nice saddle, why wouldn't you consider something that is really well known as a top saddle, like a County? I've wanted one for a long time, but I currently own a lovely saddle I was lucky enough to fall into, so to buy a County would just be luxury for me. I'm not saying it's the only quality saddle out there, I'm just wondering why the BR? How did you even hear of them? Neither of the sites I went to that sell BR saddles had any description about the saddles beyond just the two sentence blurb next to the picture.
Regarding care of a saddle, you are right to clean them with light saddle soap, but the oil question can only be answered by you, because different parts of the country, and even different saddles, can change the frequency of your oiling. I like to take my saddle flap and bend it, putting light pressure on the grain of the leather (Like folding it in half when you tighten your cinch, but folding it under, the other way). If it changes color very much, becoming lighter, then I think it's time for a nice drink of 100% neatsfoot oil (never use the compound). Once your saddle is seasoned, this works well. If you are unsure, oil your saddle, and immediately wipe off any excess oil with an absorbent rag. Hope that helps!
can you give me a link to the different saddles so I can tell you the difference???
