Fabtron Saddle
Help, the back of my saddle moves too much on my horse?
I have a fabtron, part leather, part synthetic. Anyways, the back of the saddle moves around too much. No matter how tight I cinch up the front it still tends to move. Does this mean that it doesn't fit properly or that I need a rear cinch? This is my first horse as an adult.
Thanks for any help or suggestions.
Thank you all who have answered so far. I had my riding instructor look at the saddle when I first got it and she said that it looked like it fit fine. So I may try that pad and also a rear cinch. So I don't have any of the items needed for a rear cinch. The only thing that came with the saddle were the rings for a rear cinch. So what would I need? Thanks for the help.
A rear cinch may fix this. I had a synthetic saddle and it did fit properly but did the same thing. I know you probably know what you're doing but just remember that the rear cinch doesn't get tightened as the front one does (Unfortunately I've seen beginners do this). But I would definately try the rear cinch along with loosening the front a little. You shouldn't have to have the cinch extremely tight on the horse. Having it too tight just makes the horse sore and then they eventually get "cinchy" every time you try to tighten the saddle at all. If the rear cinch doesn't work I would just try a different saddle...borrow someones before you buy a different one.
It might be fitting fine too. It could just be that the saddle is just too light. Since its part synthetic its much lighter than a completely leather saddle. I have never had a problem with my leather saddles.
