1996 Grand Prix wipers will not shut off...?
My son has a 1996 Pontiac Grand Prix, today the windshield wiper control started to smoke then the wipers would not shut off. When you shut them off they open and close about 1/4 of the way but will not turn off until the car is off. Actually when the car shuts off they do not turn off immediately, we had to turn the car back on and then off again.
He bought this car used so we don't have a user manual, I was going to check the fuses but can't find them. I did find the two fuse boxes under the hood would they be in there???
I researched the answer to your question.
To stop the problem quickly, pull the 25AMP fuse under the hood, and relay fuse. Your wipers will not work after that.
The motor for the wipers went bad. It is located almost dead center against the firewall (shaped like a car horn, round). It is supported by about 4 bolts and two connectors. Very easy fix. The only trouble is getting the arms for the wipers connected again. With a little elbow grease, you should be fine.
Pull the fuses. They are located under the hood. I found the fuses to be #17 and #22. Research your box lid to determine the placement. I do not guarantee the placement, but I am 100% confident they are uner the hood, and it would be a 25 fuse.
If the motor smoked and is not working properly, do not turn the car on anymore until you pull the fuse. It WILL result in a more complicated electrical problem that could cause more than $30.00 to fix, what is what it will cost you now for a motor.
Good luck. Let me know.

When are Bernie and CVC going to realize that the fees being charged to race organizers are unsustainable? While there may have been some indeterminable economic benefit in the form of sales taxes or value added taxes, and advertisement for Melbourne there is still the fact that the race itself lost $46 million. This large of a loss is a horrible representation to the locals that aren’t fans of Formula One that have to foot the bill year after year. This trend is not healthy for the long-term success of any Grand Prix.
I think Ron has a point but i wouldn't go that far as to say that BMW was showboating. Nick did compromise Alonso on the first corner by boxing him in which cost Fernando time and allowed Kimi to lengthen the gap… Lets not forget that Fernando was on the harder compound tyres which made it a little difficult for him to match either Lewis or Kimi's pace.
WARNING: Do not drop your baby on his head or else he will end up like this guy!
