Harness Makers
Harness Makers
Bali shopping for virgin traveler.?

Hi Its my first time anywhere more than 100km from my birthplace. Advice would be greatly appreciated.

Decided on Bali in May this year
Booked a dinner cruise, white water rafting trip, guided tour of zoo and local villiages and elephant safari.

Would like to know other peoples recommendations for off the beaten track curios, culture or regional specialty. I have five more days to fill and I can't imagine sleeping and drinking the entire time away. Would love to see buffalo or bull racing or training but it seems to be off season.

Also what is a reasonable price to expect for ...(when am I being ripped off!)

3/4 Leather coat
Knee high custom leather boots
Ankle boots

and whos a good harness maker to get a custom saddle (horse riding) and harness (horse driving)

Traveling minus children and husband but with my sister.

Good places for prezzie shopping for children would be welcome.

Thankyou

You always pay more if you cant speak the language so for the 3/4 Leather coat: around $100-1000 if you can speak indo around $5-100 from a tailor
Knee high custom leather boots:
probably around the same price as the country you live
Ankle boots: same as leather boots. I have no idea where your going to get a horse saddle. the best place to buy prezzie for kiddies is around kuta(poppies lane 1-2) and the main shopping centers (discovery and the matahari both in kuta)

As a car has a certain wind drag from its front profile could this be harnessed to improve economy?

I am not an engineer but is there a reason to prevent some type of wind catcher being hidden behind the grill to turn a turbine charging a battery to aid in acceleration, when needed. As car makers are working out ways to store energy otherwise lost in braking, could this idea not dovetail with that?

With vehicles, there are trade-offs that are made with respect to aerodynamics. a certain amount of air-flow is required to cool the engine and transmission oil, and there are intakes for compartment cooling and circulation. Other considerations are reinforcement of the driver compartment for impact resistance, vibration control, ergonomic comfort and operation. The result is an envelope that is tugged and pushed into a marketable body design, without too much cost in production. The more you shape the exterior surfaces, the more you risk difficulty in producing the individual parts or add extra assemblies, increasing the manufacturers cost, and thus your cost, making the vehicle less marketable.
With regard to wind-power generation, this would lower the vehicles Carnot efficiency below any power you might gain. More power is required to move the vehicle forward than would be generated from the turbine. This is due to bearing friction and induction resistance.
