Horse Riding Saddles Difference between Quarter and Saddle horse?
can you give me some info on the difference between a quarter, saddle, and a trail riding horse. where can i get a riding saddle for under a hundred bucks?
Quarter Horse is a breed. They're most popular for western riding but are very versatile and are popular for almost any type of riding.
The term "saddle horse" would just be used to describe a horse that's been trained to ride; unless you mean a Saddlebred, which is also a breed of horse.
A trail riding horse is just that... a horse that's used for trail riding. Any breed of horse can be a trail horse, but Quarter Horses tend to be one of the more popular breeds for trail riders.
Try ebay or craigslist for the saddle... if you don't want to spend a lot of money you'll be best off buying used because the vast majority of saddles selling for under $300 or so new are horrible made. You can get a decent synthetic saddle for fairly cheap though, so if you don't care about whether or not it's leather that can be a good option.
