Iron Saddle Racks
Iron Saddle Racks
My position in an english saddle?

LOL It's about to rain, and i was going to go ride, but like i said.. it's gonna rain. So anyway, is there any way i can sit on my saddle in the house, and practice holding my position? I tried putting it on the back of the recliner.. It fell on me xD! That wouldn't have worked anyway, because i couldn't put my one foot in the iron. I don't have a saddle rack either.. Any ideas?

If you have a flat railing on a porch or stair landing, you could try on there - but be careful!

Most of what I do is stand on the edge of a stair and let my heels drop down, move my legs apart like they would be in the saddle, and bend my knee. It really helped with keeping my leg secure while standing in my stirrups in english x3

My dream stable would have about 30 acres of wild pasture with lots of varied terrain, hills rocky areas and streams and a pond and a wooded area for shelter in bad weather. The fencing would be wide web vinyl that is flexible yet strong. With solid treated wood posts. Horses would be turned out at all times except to be fed and in very bad weather or in case of illness or injury.

I would also have a small shed row style barn. With the stalls opening out with dutch doors to the horses can have their heads out if they are locked in. They should be able to look toward the pasture. The barn roof would have plenty of sky light panels to allow lots of sunlight in.

I would have the inner barn contain a locked feed room and heated tack room with plenty of room for saddle racks and storage. And a heated bathroom.

There would be a wash rack, with hot and cold water and a concrete floor with good drainage, outside.

There would be several cooling paddocks for horses to stand in after rides to cool out. Large enough to move around but small enough to discourage wild running.

Tie areas for tacking up would be tall solid posts set deep in the ground and in concrete. The ties would all anchor to the posts high up above the horses head.

There would be a graveled parking lot for trailers and the driveway would be in a circle to allow turn around of big trailers easily.

There would be a covered riding arena. Big enough to ride in and small enough to do ground work off lead without too much running around.

And of course access to many miles of great trails to ride on.
