Help about Shows & Competitions (UK only please!)?


Hi, I am getting a 14.3hh Welsh Section D in the new year and really want to compete on him.
WHat shows would be best for me to start off at. I have never done any shows before, but he did one little one with his previuos owner. He is a very good boy and we can both do walking/trot/cantering/jumping/hacking
What shows do you think I should start off at? I am confident and just want to have fun and hopefully do well! As he is very pretty do you think I should show him, i dont know what its called but like they judge him on how well he looks?
Also any pictures of the event would be great, and what they wear would be great aswell

P.S I am from England and I know america and other countries have different showing so thats why I want someone who does shows in the UK xxx

I show in the UK and have for many years.

I currently show horses for other people including 2 Welsh section D's. I do mainly inhand and ridden showing with some dressage on the side.

inhand and ridden showing you would be best off in the M&M classes, Section D classes and novelty classes.
Showing is not how they look it is how they are put together, he could be very pretty but if his conformation is not correct he will not do well in the classes. It also takes into account the manners and way of going of the horse.

This is Me on one of the section D's that I ride for anouther: What I am wearing is correct for showing section D's in the UK, we show at affiliated showing and county level mainly.

these two photos are from the first time I ever sat on him, I got approached at a show (where I had one of my ponies for an inhand and ridden class) to ride for an injured lady, Got shoved on the horse and had litteraly 5 mins (enough time for one walk trot and canter on each rein, the first time i asked him for a gallop was in the class) to get used to him and then take him in the ring for his class and then the championship (we won both).

How is your new pony bred? what is his registered name (the big long one on his passport very often in welsh that no one can pronounce)
