Parade Saddle
What is the best saddle to use for a Quarter Horse?
I have a amazing little guy, that i just got not to long ago and i haven't even started ridding him, but i will be using a saddle of a friends until i can buy one. I cant spend to much money,I might do a little trails,rodeo practice and some parades, but no real competition.

P.S. yes he is under weight he is a rescue and we are building his weight back up, you wouldn't believe how much better he looks than when we first got him

I ride English, so I probably can't advise you about specific Western brands, but I do like to try out a few saddles when I've gotten new horses. Go to your local tack shop and sit in some yourself so that you get an idea of the size and style that you're most comfortable with. Then see if they will allow you to try them out; many shops WILL, especially used saddles, if you leave a deposit. Even though you don't have much money, I suggest you LOOK at new saddles so that you can determine what's suitable -- then look on ebay, Craig's List, or one of the many other online consignment sites to see if you can get that model used.

Art of the Western Saddle
Parade ideas for me and my horse?
There's going to be a parade in my town in a while i will be riding my horse and i wish to be in costume.Im entering with my horse i was thinking about putting a unicorn horn where his forehead would be and me be a fairy like creature. However my mom doesn't think i should because i would have to be bareback and hes a paint so do you think a paint horse could be a unicorn i think he could but my mom doesn't. I don't want to put a lot of accessories on him and i would be a native american on him but my mom did that when she rode in this parade and my friend has done it for the past 3 years so its getting a little old it looks cool but its been done. I don't want to look ridicoulous like a clown or something like that any ideas would help perferably ones with saddles and i cant be a cowgirl i want to win and a lot of people are cowgirls/cowboys every year. I need help on wat to be in this parade. Thank you lots : )
I'm surprised that your friend didn't get knocked off her horse. That's so disrespectful. If your town is into racism, maybe you should show up in black face and ride your horse backwards like the guy on the deodorant commercial.
