Saddle Irons
Rusty Stirrup Irons, how do I fix them?
So I left for college and I'm back home right now on a break and I found that my english saddle stirrup irons and my spurs have become rusty. What can I use to de rust them? I want to make sure that whatever I do does not damage my equipment. Any help would be appreciated!
Spray them with some WD-40 and let them sit in that for a day or so. Then come back the next day with a Doby scrubber (don't use steel wool, it will make your problem worse) and scrub away. When you've gotten off all you can, spray them again with WD-40, let them sit, and wipe them off with a soft cloth. When you are away from your tack, ask your parents to spray them once a month with WD-40 and scrub off any rust they find. Or just bring them up to school with you and do it yourself, they don't take up much space.

Nice tack! However, I have some suggestions. First, instead of regular stirrups, buy peacock (or "breakaway") stirrups. Second, http://www.horse.com/ sells the same exact products as State Line tack, but significantly cheaper. I LOVE this site - they have EVERYTHING! The only thing they don't sell is the horse! I highly reccomend this site, because they also have reviews. And if Dover and State Line are selling the same stuff, it's not cheap look alikes, it's the same stuff but cheaper.

Note to Feldard:
Miklos has bought a pack animal to carry the party heavy goods, food, grain, water and armour – it certainly wasn't intended to be used as a mount – he deliberately didn't buy a saddle for that very reason.
Miklos lead the pack horse up the long road out of Specularum. He glanced around at his friends, Nicolai on his new horse cut quite a figure and might have passed for a lesser noble if it wasn't for his guarded manner and lack of hauteur, Feldard marched along with a mile eatting easy gait he had a preoccupied looked and had held back from his more customary position leading the party. Maruc also seemed to have his mind on other things. He'd put his new burnish platemail and shield (which he'd had polished up and refurbished) on the horse along with his backack and seemed to be rather enjoying the walk not being laden with armour.
Miklos put his hand in his pocket and produced one of the smooth pebbles he had enchanted with permanent light whilst practising his new spells. He'd enchanted five so far.
