How much would you pay for this saddle?

I'm going to look at this saddle tomorrow and just want to see if i'm getting a fair price. I don't know the maker but it's 15", the seller says they bought it for $700 and used it a bit. I've never bought a western saddle so any advice would be great.

Find out if it has full QH bars, and if it has a fiberglass tree or a wooden bull hide wraped tree. If it has a fiberglass tree be leary of it, stand the saddle on the floor with the horn facing down and see if you can move the middle of the saddle back and forth, if you can do not buy it, it probably has a broken tree. If not and it has a fiberglass tree offer them 150, if it has a bull hide wraped tree and is not broken, then offer no more thn 200. When you buy a new saddle you not only pay for the saddle, but you pay the shipping and the salesmans fees on top of the cost of the saddle.,Buying a used saddle you should never pay more than 2/3 or the actual cost of the saddle, minus shipping and handling and of course salesmans percentage.

How To Make A Saddle by Bruce Cheaney Part 4 of 7 fitting the seat

Is there a website to get good barrel saddles ?

I am searching for a new barrel saddle, I no longer trust used ones. But i am hoping for around $200-800. It has to be blue with rawhide on it and is there a costume saddle maker in New Mexico or texas i have searched the phone book but no luck.

If you are looking for a nice show saddle 200-800 is not enough.... If you can go like 200-400 higher you can find a nice one it you search on the internet for a saddle shop
