Saddle Making When you mount your horse, do you grab mane or saddle with your left hand?
I tend to see people grab a little of both as not to drag the saddle or make it slip. Years ago, they didn't use saddle pads, today we do, so they slip easier even when the saddle is snug enough (it seems). Many people get a leg-up or use mounting blocks to avoid the problem, but if you don't have that choice, can you answer the question above?
I grab mane so the saddle doesn't slip and I can more easily use the reins to control the horse. Unless the mane is braided... then I don't grab anything.
Grabbing an English pommel can be dangerous - if you get your fingers stuck between the horse and the saddle (which you can if he moves his neck funny), you can get a nasty jerk on the fingers.
How can I make the saddle of my bike more comfortable?
I bought a bike a couple of weeks ago, but the saddle is very uncomfortable. After 1 or 2 hours I cannot sit anymore. It is not good for my private parts, it's a bit narrow. Can you help? Thanks.
You can buy a cushioned bike seat-cover. If you can't afford it, try making one yourself, using fluffy cushioned material.
