Saddle Used
When did the bronc saddles used in rodeo change from having a saddle horn to being hornless type used today?
the original saddles used by the american 'cowboy' didn't have a saddle horn. originally, the ideal came from south of the border, from the vaquero's same place the lariat came from. which was originally 'riata', and bronc busters found that the original saddles they had used were excellent for busting a bronc. and those types of saddles are still made for the bronc busting 'cowboy'

How to interpret the number on a Hermes saddle? Can it be used to check the tree size, for instance?
Most high end saddles have serial numbers under the flap. It identifies the year made, the length/size of the flap, the seat size, the seat type, and usually the tree size.
