Saddle help......???????
I am going tomorrow to look at a saddle that I might possibly buy. It's a Stubben Athos (a lot like a Siegfried) and the guy wants $650 for it. It fits me perfectly and he says it should fit most horses. It's in excellent condition with no tears or marks. It should last a good long while.
My only hesitation is the price. Is it really worth that much? He's had it on consignment for more than 6 months. Do you think I could try to get him to a lower price? If so what's the highest price you would pay for it?

You're right, it really does look like a siegfried! Right down to the piping. Now a good bargaining point would be that they no longer make that model. I'd start at $500.00 you can always go up! My old Siegfried will be 40 years old next year and I've had it since it was 3 years old. I've owned LOTS of other saddles, but it's been with me the whole time.
BTW it's in good shape. If it fits you and your horse, it's a good deal.
