Four Them
I have four kittens that were born under my house and are wild. How do I tame them? Any ideas?
I've already tried to use fishy-smelling canned food so they will come to eat and I can pet them. But, when I try to pick them up, they run or scratch me. I need to speed this up. They're about 12 weeks old and I need to give them away before THEY start having kittens themselves. No one will take a wild kitten.
first of all if they are wild you should not be trying to give them away and if you do go that route you need to let people kow that they are wild and have not had their shots. you yourself should not be trying to pick them up without protective garments on because if they have a disease and scratch you you can be in big trouble health wise. since they are wild you should simply be trying to get them away from you house if they are bothering you by staying there. i would suggest that if you can get them out and into a cat carrier then you can take them to the spca and they have to take them or you can get them in the carrier and set them free out side of your property. if you do want to give them away or sell them obviously you have to get them first so you could if you want take them to the vet and get their shots. but unless you want to keep them or give them to a "good" home i wouldn't suggest feeding them because then they will be hanging around your house forever because they know that there is food there.

Why do traditional windmills have four fins on them whilst modern wind turbines only three?
What are the reasons for the original four fin design and why has modern engineering moved to a three finned design?
A four blade design is easier to make and balance, but fewer and longer blades are more aerodynamically efifcient. This is because the airflow coming off the back of one fin creates resistance for the following fin. In old windmills, the blades turned very slowly, so this effect was not significant. Also, the builders were limited in the length of the blades that could be made. The shorter the blades, the more you need to get the same power.
Electric generator windmills need to turn faster under less load. You can be sure somebody did a lot of high tech aerodynamic computer simulations to determine the optimimum number, length, speed and shape of blades to get the most power. This kind of technology was obviously not available to the old windmill designers.
