Trainer Grand Prix
Trainer Grand Prix
To learn, or not to learn..? (really a question, not a wierd one!)?

My dressage horse and I are planning to go to our first shows this year. We need more practise with more than just one trainer.
My trainer's trainer's trainer is having a clinic. She was trained in germany by a grand prix dressage level person. Its $220 to go in for 2 1 hr private lessons. (good price? I think it is, but more insite on that?)
It all sounds great, grand prix level person in my province (canadian) right almost local, ect, but I heard from my trainer she is VERY strict. I w/t/c but if I dont reach her level of approval, I might not even move past a WALK. and there will be people watching (clinic, remember!) and that would be embarassing, and I would think much less of myself as a rider after that.
Should I? Should I not?
Thanks.

this is a great question. and i was nervous the first time i went to a clinic. But if you want to get better, you need to go to the clinic. Im sorry to say, but if it is for your pride its being a tad selfish. You cant get beter if your not willing to learn. And who cares if she keeps you in the walk???? you see it will help you!!! You cant jump bigger if you have a bad position, you fall!! so you have to go on the leadline and learn, and after your better then ever before!! starting from the basics, can lead to new and better things. if you need it, its only to help you!!!!

A Fancy Imported FEI Gelding For Sale- Training Grand Prix

My dream is to become a grand prix show jumper. can i fulfill this lifelong goal?

my life revolves around horses. I am currently working for my trainer for lessons but can't afford to go to the big A shows....I do have a nice horse (thanks to my grandma) who is turning out to be a outstanding jumper. any ideas on how to overcome the financial speed bump?

Just keep riding. Iam in the EXACT same boat as you financially I cant fund to go as far as I want yet...but when you mingle with the right crowd and get yourself noticed in other ways, offers are made. Horses are given to you to ride etc. etc. I am just getting my first full funded horse to take 3'9's this summer - its a good feeling and all I had to do was ride and prove my REAL passion. It starting to happen and it takes time but just keep pushing through. Sponsorships and stuff come in very handy for A shows etc. - talk to your coach about options like that :) You'll get there, trust me!!!!

I couldn't find anything on the acoustical guitar "Grand Prix" but found a couple of sites that talk about Galanti Grand Prix electrics. One selling for around $2200.00. My suggestion is that you look on the internet for guitar historians or contact your local guitar shop for more info. depending on where you are located. e-bay may also be a source.

    Hope this helped

The movie with Sally Fields was called "Murphy's Romance," I think.
