Why is a well recognized military presence used outside of military bases where civilians can see them?
Especially if these nations are at peace and have been so for generations. If they uphold liberty. Is it for reassurance for the citizens or to control the citizens. Or is it only for ceremonial purposes?
Why have a military presence outside of bases if a nation is not at war or unrest. Why even use them in parades at all?
An example would be those Guards in London or even the Guards at the soldier of the unknown. I understand it on military bases, but outside of bases during peace time, what is the purpose?
well for one the guards of the Unknowns are on a military installation. Arlington National Cemetery is a military cemetery.
a military presence is good for more than just fighting, it can be a moral booster, gives people a sense a pride,and not all thing can be done without leaving post at some point even if to travel to training ground off post.
