Western Saddles Lightweight
Western Saddles Lightweight
What's the point of this?

I didn't know endurance saddles existed until my aunt got some and offered me one if I wanted to try it out (I said no because it looked incredibly uncomfortable). I just don't really get the point. I know it's supposed to help you ride long distance and that they're for endurance riding, but why not just use a lightweight western saddle? Or why not just use an english saddle?

Btw, not trying to be rude to any endurance riders. I just was never "taught" about this, and honestly don't get the point.

The tree on the endurance saddle is designed to spread the riders weight out evenly so the horse is more comfortable. The saddle is also lighter than most which makes it easier on the horse for the long journeys that they compete in.

Stirrups are also placed forward a bit more than usual so that the rider can mount and dismount at faster speeds.

So I guess it's all about comfort for the horse and accessibility for the rider. I've never actually ridden in one so I can't say from personal experience, but that's the info I've gathered from various people that do. They say it's comfy; I'm a skeptic.
