What type of cc saddle? Collegiate diploma?
I'm looking to buy a close contact saddle for my quarter horse mare. I am finding it to be very difficult. I wanted to get the bates caprille but I can't afford that. Is there anything comparable to the bates other the wintec. I like the fact of the changeable gullet. I was looking at getting the collegiate convertible diploma saddle but the seat looks really deep in some pictures and normal (flatter) in others. What close contact saddles would you reccommend? For anyone who has owned a collegiate diploma what are your thoughts on it? Was the seat really deep or not?

I have a Collegiate older saddle with the changeable gullet that I bought used. I think it is a post graduate, or maybe a graduate. I use it on a stocky build quarter horse, with the MW gullet plate. I can't really say if the seat is deep or not, but it is comfortable and I like it. It feels balanced. I don't feel that I am going to slip out of the saddle, and I don't have a problem getting into 2 point. I love the E Z change system, I highly recommend that. The saddle seems to be holding up well for me, it's second owner. It does not feel as nice as a Bates that a friend of mine has. If I had the money, I'd probably buy a Bates. But, since I don't, I'm quite content with the Collegiate.
