wintec saddle with cair system

Buying a used saddle? Questions, experience?

I've never bought a used saddle. I'm not paying MUCH for this, but I'm spending ALL my money on this saddle.

The saddle has only been used a few times, and comes with a girth/leathers/stirrups.

I will check everything before I hand her the money. IF there is something wrong, how much should I deduct? I'm not talking like something that would cause the saddle to be unrideable inable...:P I mean like a blemish or scratch.

If it helps any - it is a new Close Contact Wintec Saddle, the one without any of the microfiber. It has the cair system and the complete gullet system. She's asking $300 which is AWESOME..but...if there is a scratch I'd kinda like to save some money.
For the complete gullet kit, girth, leathers/stirrups and saddle you can get it as a package deal for $649.99. It's not the 500 CC saddle, it's the one that looks just like the Bates CC Saddle.

Well first off print off a document that states that you have bought this saddle with agreement from the owner. Have 2 copies, one for you and one for the owner of the saddle, that get signed by both you and the owner of the saddle. Believe me, you don't want something to happen and have a person coming after you saying you stole their saddle, so always get these things in writing.

As far as taking money off... I would say try and gauge how bad the damage is. If there is a small scratch on the saddle, I wouldn't bother trying to talk the saddle down, especially if the saddle is exactly what you are looking for. The last thing you want to do is get the seller ticked because you want to pay less for almost no reason. If there is something blatantly obvious like a big patch of discoloration on part of the saddle that is visible after you are sitting in the saddle, then you could probably talk the person down to what the equivalent would be to fix the problem, but no more than that. But it sounds like a good deal, just try to match the blemish/problem with the price.

A cair panel is basically a balloon as the panels of the saddle. The saddle will come with the panels already installed. But, if they should break, I heard they are a B***H to replace. No, they don't raise the saddle off they horse the way that you are thinking. Get a Wintec with the adjustable gullets. Have a certified saddle fitter help you.
