hey sorry i don't have the saddle yet i'm buying a horse soon and it comes with him so yer can't tell you yet lol
boyd - i'm confused isn't the saddle in the link leather?

Wintec saddles are not made with leather. They're made of this stuff called Equileather and suede. It's synthetic leather. You cannot put saddle soap on them, or the tack will get gross. Just use regular soap and water.

Synthetic saddles vs Leather saddles?

My daughter is leasing a horse and he is going up for sale. My husband and I have been talking about buying him for a while and the owner is willing to sell everything to us except for the tack, so we have to buy a saddle and bridle. And I was looking through a Dover magazine and notice the Wintec saddles and was wondering what is the differences between Wintec saddle and a leather saddle and how does one clean a Wintec saddle?

i'm assuming she isn't planning on showing the highest levels of hunter under saddle, so a synthetic is PERFECT ! First off, you can get it in either black or brown (I reccomend brown because if she wants to do some hunters, only brown is legal, and its legal for all other english showing. They are also extremely easy to clean. Just hose it off. You don't need to condition and clean it all the time. You and your kid don't have to worry about it as often. Wintec also have changeable gullets so if she ever decides to get another horse, you can change it so it fits the new horse. CAIR panels that are also in wintec saddles are great because they cushion the horse's back with air. This could even make him rideable for longer (if he's an older horse, which I assume he is). The other plus is its quality at a very good price! You can get cheaper leather saddles, but it will be broken in a few years, no dbout. I even believe wintecs have a lifelong warrantee on their already better-than-average trees. So yeah, I definately reccamend a wintec, they are comfy, great saddles.
