wintec saddle for draft horse
Help! Shows And Stuff!?
Hi Everyone!
My horse and I are going to start showing in Hunters and Hunter/Jumpers.
I've got a few questions too!
This will be my first year really showing. I've done 4 little fun shows at the barns I've ridden out. They didn't count for anything though. They were just little things. Anyways...
1. My horse is a draft horse crossed with pinto, and I was told that some Hunter judges don't like draft horses... Is that true?
2. My saddle is a Wintec... Do they have issues with synthetic saddles too? haha!

You generally won't see very many draft breeds at hunter shows, but it is not as if they are banned. the judges should treat you equally to all the other horses and riders, but if they're going to be harsh on you just because of your horse's breed unfortunately there's not much you can do. To your first show you should just be focusing on having fun, and I guess there's only one way to find out how the judges are going to treat you.
As for the saddle, I think your best bet would be to contact the organisation who is running the show and ask them about their saddle regulations. They might even have a page of their rules and restrictions on their website (assuming they have one).
Good luck with everything, and just remember to have fun, there's no need to take your first show seriously!
