   I’ll give you a review of my bike and maybe this will give you a better idea of what to look for. I have a [BMW and to be perfectly frank, I have mixed feelings about it. The paralever (one sided rear) suspension is just cool. The short wheelbase is nice, it is moderately light for a tourer (620LBs, I believe) and handles very nicely especially for it’s age. I love that it has floating rotor, integrated ABS, this bike stops *very quick and very surely*. It’s running strong at 118K miles and it has some nice (albeit not all unique features for a tourer) such as heated grips, an electric windshield, and neat turn signal controls on either grip. This bike does have some major drawbacks, though. The gearbox is *clunky*, and that’s not just mine; the bimmer crowd describes this as *”very German”* as opposed to a “smooth Japanese box”, I think this is BS, and simply not up to par. Many “R”-series bimmers, apparently, also had a problem with throttle “surging”, though I have not experienced it. But most importantly, for you it seems, I don’t find the saddle very comfortable; — it looks good, but after an hour or so your butt gets sore and your legs get tired, and I’m only 5’9″. To be honest, in many respects, my Suzuki gs550 (a standard) generally felt better on long rides (YMMV). Another problem (which may be endemic of touring bikes in general), the seat is wide (and I’ve tried both the original and short version) and this makes it very difficult to park if you’re on any grade of hill. It’s also very difficult to work on. To change the battery, I had to take off both side fairings (about 20 screws) and lift the tank. I was going to change a fuel line until I read the manual and saw step 3, “(See gearbox removal)”. Hopefully this will give you some perspective, if you have any questions, just ask. TLDR; My BMW has some nice features and impressive longevity, but it is not the end-all-be-all of motorcycles. I’d go with something moderately light weight, with comfortable geometry in a style you like. I’d also highly suggest lurking around forums of bikes you considering to see what particular problems people experience with that model.

   It is proven on my brother who likes to cycle and race on a racing bike, he usually make the saddle very high actually to make him ride faster and as a result he had a long legs. This had happened when he was before 20yo. I dun know whether ppl who r older than 20yo still can achieve this. His height was 6' 2″. For asian ppl like us he is consider very tall.
