Wintec Saddles
Are the bates and wintec saddles the same, except that one is leather and the other is synthetic????
Yes. That is pretty much the case. I have owned both. Of course, I find the leather to be a little softer all-round and have moved away from the wintecs, as I have gotten older. However, I would still reccommend a wintec to anyone. Some people actually prefer the the Pro-trainer Wintec Dressage to the Bates, because they like the "grippy" equisuede.
The construction is generally the same--i.e. cair panels, the curved & recessed stirrup bars, size, etc.
If you are trying to decide between the two, consider the following: your age/committment to riding, available funds, time you wish to spend cleaning tack, and personal preference. Go look at and sit in the saddles that are similar. For example, conside the Wintec 500 All-Purpose with Cair and the Bates Caprilli All-Purpose with Cair. You will find that they are very similar. The texture and feel of the leather will be softer and smoother than the synthetic. However, both are comfortable. If you are young and are still growing/changing, it might be better not to foot the larger bill of the Bates now. If you never clean your tack and don't like to take care of it/have to worry about it, synthetic may be better--go Wintec. If you are fully-grown, have been riding for a long time and don't plan on every stopping, and if you enjoy the softer feel of the leather seat and don't mind/enjoy taking care of/cleaning your tack, plus you have $$, Bates is the way to go.
I personally reccommend and bought my Bates saddle slightly used, after I sold my Wintec.
The good news is that both are excellent saddles for both horse and rider, have the Cair and adjustable gullets, and hold their value--great for resale.
I highly reccommend ebay, if you plan to purchase either. I bought both the wintec and the bates slightly used on ebay for half the cost they are new!

Where can I find a used Wintec Isabel saddle for under 500 dollars?
Ive already tried ebay, this means a lot to get this saddle, because its for a person who has found some much stuff for me, i have to find her something!
Look on tacktrader.com, horseclicks.com has a good saddle section, equinenow.com has a good saddle section, and equinehits has some good ones.

ummm kk your going 2 think im crazy but try get your balance riding bareback (without jumps 4 quite a wile) besides tht wld fix ur sadle problem
try grids and stay in jumping position the hole time just learning 2 feel when hes taking of
rember 4 now its alright 2 lean forward a couple of strides early nd hold the mane
if u can aford it profesional advise from an instructer should help
tie ur stirups 2 ur girth 2 stop ur leg swinging back (sounds bad ) but if ur leg moves alot ur nevva guna hav a strong jumping position
nd upload pics 2 make it easir 4 ppl 2 c (or video)
Avoid Hilason saddle they are not very comfortable and do NOT last long.

1.) go to site. select your state/country you are looking around.
2.)put in the search box what kind of dressage saddles you are looking for. (or anything else)
it will come up with everything related to your search. usually people on here are pretty honest/cheap. You can look at there reviews of the seller too. It is pretty easy to do. It is pretty much like ebay but a lot simpler.
